Therapy for anxious minds and overloaded hearts.
I help you understand yourself with more accuracy and compassion.
There are real reasons it feels so hard sometimes.
Many women come to therapy believing they’re somehow failing. They believe they’re bad at coping, bad at boundaries, or somehow bad at keeping up with life. What’s usually true, though, is that there are deeper patterns steering their anxiety, overwhelm, or self-criticism; patterns which have called the shots for years.
Somewhere along the way, life began to feel more like something you constantly need to manage instead of something you actually get to comfortably inhabit.
Part of therapy is learning that many of your patterns developed for understandable reasons and often persist long after they stop being helpful.
You are not meant to white-knuckle your way through life.
Growth does not eliminate difficulty, healing does not erase vulnerability, and resilience still requires effort.
But.
When things begin to make more sense and fall into place, you can unlock the ability to discover you have more choices than you ever realized.
Hi, I'm Cheryl.
Many of the women I work with are used to being The Responsible One – the one who keeps it going, figures things out, and takes care of what needs to be taken care of. Over time, though, it can be a lot.
One of the things clients tell me they value most about our work together is feeling genuinely understood and welcomed without feeling judged, rushed, or reduced to a label. In addition to decades of practice, I bring warmth, curiosity, practical tools, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human.
Where the Heart & Mind Meet
How Emotions & Thoughts Shape Daily Life
Your thoughts, emotions, nervous system, and behaviors are constantly influencing one another, often so automatically that it can be difficult to see the patterns objectively while you’re actively living within them.
The nagging “shoulds.” The internal rules and self-critical reactions that are so practiced you stopped noticing they were there. The way stress moves through your mind, body, relationships, and sense of self.
These are not personal shortcomings. They are patterns, and patterns can change.
My work is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practice, and somatic therapy, which can each help you gain insight about why things feel the way they do while also building practical, lasting tools for change.
The goal is not just symptom relief – it’s to help you live your life so that your heart and mind no longer feel at odds with one another.
More clarity. More choice. More room to breathe.
The insights and skills you build in therapy don’t stay in the session. They come with you: into your relationships, your work, your decisions, and the life you’re trying to build for yourself.
Your questions, answered
What issues do you specialize in?
I work with women who are used to being capable, responsible, and relied upon by others, often while privately feeling overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, or hard on themselves in ways few people fully see.
Do you accept insurance?
I work as an out-of-network provider and provide a monthly superbill for insurance reimbursement. Depending on your plan, many clients receive between 40–80% of their session costs back directly from their insurance company.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes – I offer a complimentary consultation call so we can briefly connect, answer questions, and see whether working together feels like a good fit. Whoever you ultimately choose to work with, my hope is that you find care that feels supportive, thoughtful, and right for you.
